Bobbie Goulding had the easiest job in picking his squad for the mid-season international. If you're fit, you're in. Now he's got to make a side out of them to compete with England who are able to call on three NRL players for Steve McNamara's first game in charge.

 Another crocked full-back |
A lacklustre Dragons presented Hull KR with the ideal opposition to blow away the memory of a gubbing at Knowsley Road last time out. On a wind and rain-swept afternoon, a ponderous Dragons side posed little to no threat and the scoreline only looked reasonable thanks to Rovers being below par as well.

| Chris Walker's match preview: Hull KR |
Our man in the camp |
We've roped in former Brisbane, Souths, Roosters, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Queensland star Chris Walker to preview the Dragons games this season. Currently out injured, his team-mates managed to run up and down the famous Batley slope to book a place in the Challenge Cup semi-finals. Warrington to come in eight weeks time, but Hull KR are the more pressing issue as Chris reviews the last week and previews a trip to the Robins. |

 An RFL buffet, yesterday |
The Challenge Cup semi-final draw was made yesterday and, as is normal at these events, where there is free food, we sent along our most rotund member of the sang-et-or.net team, along with little Chunky who ended up asking better questions than us. Here are the views of Warrington coach, Tony Smith, and New Catalans saviour, Brent Sherwin. |

 A proud cock, yesterday |
With the international against England coming up, France coach Bobbie Goulding today announced his 20-man squad ahead of the game at Leigh. Some brilliant individual decided the game should go ahead on the same date as England's opening World Cup football game, so the chances of anyone noticing this game are slim to none.
Here, we have a look at the squad anyway |

You know it makes sense |
For the second time in their Super League history, the Dragons have made it through to the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup. The disjointed nature of the competition saw the draw take place four days after the quarter-final with few people entirely sure when or where it was going to be, but whenever it was, the Dragons were going to be underdogs.

| Dragons avoid the banana skin |
 A rare double |
There was a whiff of an upset in the air at Batley on Saturday evening. With prices dropped to £10, over 2000 fans packed in on a rotten day to see what transpired. A quick look at the unique playing surface convinced Kevin Walters that, on winning the toss, the best option was to play uphill in the first half. Luckily, Olivier Elima called right.

FCL looking for a treble |
The French domestic season reaches it's climax at Montpellier on Sunday as the winners of the last four titles go into battle. This will be the third time in the last four years that Pia and Lézignan have faced off in the final and the previous two clashes saw one win apiece. It's all set up for a cracker.

| Chris Walker's match preview: Batley |
Still buzzing after Queensland's win |
We've roped in former Brisbane, Souths, Roosters, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Queensland star Chris Walker to preview the Dragons games this season. Currently out injured, can his mates ensure that he comes back into a side with a cup semi-final to look forward to?

| Dragons with a mountain to climb |
 It's quite a slope |
It's probably safe to say that the Dragons aren't going to win the league. Adrift and drifting in the league, perhaps the Challenge Cup can offer some respite. On the face of it, the Dragons got a plum draw, away at Championship side Batley who came through a hastily rearranged game with Swinton who got a reprieve after the Halifax incident. However, Batley presents a unique challenge and they're not going too badly under Karl Harrison.

| Bosc's 14-point haul in vain |
 Couldn't do much more |
It was no fairy-tale start for Catalans new signing Brent Sherwin. Despite having a solid debut, the hosts forwards could not provide a platform for him to display his skills, instead he had the Salford defence in his face throughout the game. There will be more to come from the former Castleford and Canterbury man, but more pressing issues lay at the door of Dragons boss Kevin Walters.
